Can someone explain this?

Posted by CalamityGanon - 10 days ago

I don't know why, but every time I draw a digital piece, I physically cannot draw a straight line. It always ends up wobbly looking. For context, I use an XP-Pen drawing tablet with no screen. While I have a Wacom tablet with a screen, I never use it since it's not hooked up to the computer.

Whenever I draw on paper, my lines are a lot cleaner, can someone explain this and possibly provide a solution? Thanks.

I had the same problem too! (A few News posts ago except with a different tablet), not even the company could figure it out, so I just ordered a new one.

I'm just guessing, but maybe it has to do with a regular pen having more "grip" on paper. Or the driver needs updating. ;)

The Art Forum probably knows the actual answer.

honestly, idk, i rarely draw straight lines from hand

Are you drawing the straight line slower? If so the that's the problem, though you have to grip better, try to draw the straight line very quick to prevent that, do it many times (undo and draw) to help you getting better

Thank you! This helped a lot!

I’m not sure, perhaps it’s just the fact your better at drawing on paper then a tablet. Same thing happens to me.
