Pico Game

Posted by CalamityGanon - February 13th, 2025

So many years ago a couple of weeks after I finished my game Russian Roulette, I contacted TeffyD to make music for an upcoming game related to Pico it was meant to be a side scrolling beat 'em up. However my coding skills weren't advanced enough to make the game to my vision, however I want to make it collaborative with a new coder in a different engine where I'm in charge of art rather than everything.

I wanted y'all's opinion on it if I should restart development with a new coder. As for Extron, I'm still going to try and develop it myself though.

I say go for it, a perfect opportunity for collaboration is one you shouldn't pass up! Having someone else code could result in your own coding skills improve for future projects! Restarting development of a game that you feel wasn't working out the way you hoped is better than trying to make it work. You already have the blueprint of the current development, so restarting it will be quicker since you have a clearer vision of what you want. Hope this helps in your decision, it's your project at the end of the day.

Thanks for the advice! I had been debating it for a while but now I think restarting is a good idea.

You could try as2, is more easy to learn. Or the godot script.

I'm using Gamemaker Studio right now, but I've decided on trying to collaborate with a programmer so I can work on practicing for a different project.
